Garage door opener help
#34
Thanks for all your suggestions...i could not get it to work with the instructions in the manual until I read this post. The key is where you put your garage remote against the car remote.
I pressed the button on the hand held remote and held it against the center console light. Simultaneously pressed the button on the car garage opener and it took the code almost immediately (5 secs) and I got the fast flash. After, I just pressed the learn button on the opener itself and then held the car remote button. Garage light flashed. And there is peace in the household again.

are you able to get your 911 homelink to successfully learn the signals of the car itself? (ie. get the fogs to flash 3 times?)

That's where I got stuck. Two different dealers' service departments couldn't manage to do it, either. They surmise that the unit inside the bumper is either damaged or disconnected. I'll let them delve into it next time my car has to be at the dealer (which I try to avoid as much as possible) for some other CPO-covered item. Meanwhile I'm using a keychain remote, which is just as convenient and possibly more secure.
