Question 997 and ipod

My friend and neighbor just picked up a 997c4 last night and I was wondering if anyone has put an ipod in theirs yet? He does not have the cd changer so I was thinking there must be a way to use that input as aux and then control the Ipod with the ipod itself.
TIA

Check out the Denison Icelink products. They might have something for you. Is there an extra input on the back of the Bose head unit?

We're all wondering. I love my P-car but this lack of an ipod solution is driving me crazy!

There is one. Saw it in a GT2 (996) a couple of weeks ago. Not sure how it was hooked up but the cable fed to the front right of the center console where the iPod holder was mounted.

I simply use the Monster iCarplay wireless plus system in my 06 997S. I move it from car to car and the clarity and quality are good. It's about $100 but I'm sure it can be found cheaper.

Usually the FM modulators are only fair. I would perfer a hardwire solution.

Just in case any suppliers are watching... I WANT ONE TOO. I'm currently using the FM modulator, but am not at all happy with sound quality.

Stopped by the local dealer yesterday with a buddy who wanted to buy some audi parts (next door). The Audi parts department was selling a iPod interface for $170. Is'nt this a MOST unit ?

Just use MP3s. Unless you are a real scan-o-holic, a few hundred tracks on a MP3 CD should suffice. Even if you need multiple discs for your collection, you couldn't possibly listen to all of that music in one sitting. Yes, it's inconvenient if you really must have all of your music in one place but it sure beats using an FM modulator!

It's funny, I never even knew that mine played MP3s until I brought it home and saw it in the manual on accident.

Mine doesn't play MP3s, so I'm stuck with burning a normal music CD (18-20 tracks) one at a time or iTrip.

Yes, to all suppliers who read this. I'm looking for an IPOD solution that will work with my PCM interface.
