Modified stock exhaust

I modified the stock exhaust to simulate the PSE. It is slightly louder than stock, but not as loud as PSE. It is definitely throatier. It is not loud enough for me. Anyone interested in buying it for what it cost me $300?

Regards,
Anthony

Nice work. It's as loud as PSE but not enough for you?

I meant not as loud. If it was I would be happy.

If you want it LOUD ,you can bypass the entire muffler by adding a bypass from the inlet to the outlet ( Just don't make it a full size pipe, I suggest you use a 1" or 1 1/4" pipe, otherwise you may as well delete the muffler . Lol )

There was a thread advertising one like that made somewhere in Canada . If you find it , it describes what kind of sound you can expect .

Does that pipe you added goes down into the first section???? It does in PSE. I have been scheduled for this mod. My exhaust tuner will open up the mufflers though to go into the first section.

There is a cutaway image of the PSE mufflers somewhere around.

I figured out how to solve my problem. The 997 muffler construction is different than the 996 construction. Without getting into details, I need to do some internal surgery to fix the issue. This should then replicate the PSE exactly.

Well I decided to cut the can open and do some surgery. Based on the internal construction and without totally cutting the can open, I made some internal mods to mimic the PSE. I think it is close in sound. The PSE definitely is different internally than the stock. It is not as loud at idle, but under load the sound is close in volume. I'll try to post a sound clip. I am thinking of selling the mufflers with the factory chromed tips for $600. This covers my cost for all the fabrication. The factory tips are worth about $400 new. So it a good bargain for someone looking for better than stock sound and new tips.

Anthony - I'm considering this mod. Any chance you have some time to throw up a clip of what the exhaust sounds like? Drive by, under load etc...??

Thanks.

I can try making a quick clip. I am not sure if I will have time to make a video of the car driving away, since you need two people to do this correctly. After trying different exhausts, I decided to keep my setup. It is just right, not too loud and no drone.

I meant the entire drivetrain warranty itself.. of course the mufflers won't be covered.
