Question Possible to date/time fix DME ignition events?

If you have already read this on other forums, sorry – move on.
Just about a week to go before I collect my new C2S. For insurance purposes I had to contact the dealer to get delivery mileage which turns out to be 26 miles. Initially I thought this was high but a quick search showed this to be about the average. However, I then started worrying about what might have happened during those 26 miles, I know some 997 owners have had warranty disputes because of the number of ignitions in ranges 1 to 6 shown on DME data analysis. Hence my question; can the number of ignitions in the ranges 1 to 6 be analysed by date or time such that any mistreatment prior to delivery can be isolated and identified as such? Or is the only safe option to get a DME print-out before taking delivery and has anyone done this?

Wasn't it already stated that these cars are delivered in "delivery mode" so that the maximum allowable speed was electronically limited to 20mph ?

I bet though that somewhere between delivery and 26 miles the dealer had to take the car out of "delivery mode".

Agreed, but what's being implied is a serious stretch...

Yes, that is exactly my concern, how do I know at what mileage the car was taken out of delivery mode?

Probably shortly after the car comes off the auto transport - I'm sure the dealer will tell you.

Who cares ?? Is there anything wrong with your car now ? Has anything happened to indicate you will have warranty issues in the future ? If not, then you're just being paranoid. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I think you are giving too much credibility to what you read online.
Now, for me buying a USED car, checking this information is a good idea. If you are buying or have bought your car new from the dealer you really shouldn't worry. I seriously doubt the techs or lot attendants are going out and abusing brand new vehicles.

Your purchase / Lease agreement should state how many miles were on the car at delivery.

No offence taken I am a glass half empty type. But life has taught me to expect the worse and enjoy those ocassions when things work out better than anticipated. I've been having such a good run of late (ordering my first Porsche for example) that I just know it can't last.

I hear what you're saying...I'm the same way. Can't tell you how many times things have happen, broken etc and the person dealing with it says, "Man, I have never, ever in my 25 years doing this, seen this happen to someone."
So I know what it's like to always feel like your getting screwed for no reason...maybe it's karma
Anyway, you're getting a brand new car man, I'm sure the dealership will take very good care of you. Don't stress too much, the power of negative thinking has a way of materializing and becoming reality if you let it.
Think positive, don't mis a shift and keep on L I V I N
