So there isn't much of an argument for 91 in our cars unless you sit in traffic all day (such a shame in a 911) or its much cheaper in your market.

In California we are force fed 91 and the only way we can get 93 is to blend 100 with 91. It is hard to find 100 as only a few stations carry it.

I stand by my statement. If you disagree with the difference, I would try the 93. If you still don't notice, run a tank of 93 go back and run a tank of 91 after it and I think you will notice it. I did anyway and I'm certain it wasn't psychological. I would much prefer going to a close gas station and not having to worry about mixing it if it was the same. It is not in my opinion. This car was designed to run at peak performance for North America with 93, but yes it will run on less or more, but not as well.

In Canada 93 is at every Chevron Station. When I go down to Seattle for track days I can never find any. Is it sold in Washington?

Absolutely. You are so lucky. I wish there was one here in West LA.

Terrence, quite a few stations here in Los Angeles sell 100 octane if you wanted to blend a few gallons to get 93 octane.

How bad is Ethanol for our cars? I cant seem to find fuel without ethanol here in NY. Hess, Sunoco, BP. they all have 10% ethanol stickers at the pump.

Your manual says 10% is okay, and with the ********* in Washington we had better hope that 15% is also.

I'm pretty sure that the OP was mistaken. It is my understanding that CARB mandates the gasoline sold in CA and sets the blends based on seasons. Unless you're willing to spend the $ for 100 octane "race" gas, your choices in CA are limited to 87, 89 or 91.
