I had a plug put in and have had 2 track days with zero problems.

Renoir is infamous around these parts
If you're driving a $90k car, why would you risk it with a plug or patch? Spend the $300 and get a new tire. Just my $.02.

cause there is not risk to patching it.

besides, it always bugs me to have one tire new and the other corresponding tire half worn. don't know if it makes a diff, but i'd rather replace them both if i was going to do it.


plugs are sketchy. patches are fine.

since this topic is being covered again, just wanted to check the boards consensus on this tire that has some sidewall damage.
its a small area and not too deep but since its on the sidewall should it be considered useless.

damage to the sidewall would make me uncomfortable. i would ditch it.
