Hi guys, Anyone in NY/NJ area have fabspeed mufflers or bypass pipes installed? I would really like to hear them in person on a 997 prior to deciding which ones I should go with. I am a bit worried that if I go with bypass pipes it will be too loud. Thanks

 

I have the muffler bypass on my car and my friend has the fabspeed mufflers on his 997c2s. We are both in North NJ--Mike

 

How hard/long is the install on the bypass pipes?

 

Mike (Grizzy) installed the bypass pipes on his car in just under an hour. As others on this forum have said - they're really loud. Mike also helped me install the Fabspeed mufflers on my 997S Friday night, but we haven't been able to get the stock tips to fit. (Any suggestions welcome.)

wont bypass pipes get you a CEL?

 

I think the bypass pipes sound great, but they're a little obnoxious for driving around the neighborhood. It sounds like a few harleys riding together in a pack. You really need to back off the throttle around town. The fabspeed is a little throatier than stock and not obnoxious sounding. I'll work on getting an mpeg.

 

Basically the mpeg will sound like the one on fabspeed --so it wont help much-- lets pick a time to meet up.
The 5 minute clip on fabspeed of the bypass pipes is like a fraction of the true sound.

Let me know when it's convinient for you guys and I will take a ride to meet you. Weekends are generally better for me. I am in Brooklyn, so it will probably be no more than an hour drive from you. The cat bypass pipes might get you a CEL but i dont think the Muffler bypass pipes will.
