Fabspeed Mufflers or Bypass Pipes
Hi guys, Anyone in NY/NJ area have fabspeed mufflers or bypass pipes installed? I would really like to hear them in person on a 997 prior to deciding which ones I should go with. I am a bit worried that if I go with bypass pipes it will be too loud. Thanks

Mike (Grizzy) installed the bypass pipes on his car in just under an hour. As others on this forum have said - they're really loud. Mike also helped me install the Fabspeed mufflers on my 997S Friday night, but we haven't been able to get the stock tips to fit. (Any suggestions welcome.)
X-Bit - you're more than welcome to hear them side by side.

I think the bypass pipes sound great, but they're a little obnoxious for driving around the neighborhood. It sounds like a few harleys riding together in a pack. You really need to back off the throttle around town. The fabspeed is a little throatier than stock and not obnoxious sounding. I'll work on getting an mpeg.

Basically the mpeg will sound like the one on fabspeed --so it wont help much-- lets pick a time to meet up.
The 5 minute clip on fabspeed of the bypass pipes is like a fraction of the true sound.

Grizzy and Mike Thanks guys! I am sorry for the late reply as I had to go out of town for business. I would like to take you up on your offer to listen to both exhausts. Let me know when it's convinient for you guys and I will take a ride to meet you. Weekends are generally better for me. I am in Brooklyn, so it will probably be no more than an hour drive from you. There is gonna be an exotic run this weekend on Sunday. Are you coming? Thanks!
