That new motor is a beast - congrats!! I can't wait for the pics.

The ONLY thing ever keeping me from seriously looking at MB/AMG products has been the talk of dropping quality. Has the build quality in the E-Class improved? I hope so since they're such gorgeous, potent cars. After the build quality of my S4 and 997S, anything less would be unsatisfactory.

Congrats again! Time to invest in spare rear tires...

LOL!

Well I've owned so many Benz in the past starting from the old squarish E class right thru the new SLK (my latest Benz before this one), and IMO the build quality of the car has been improving a lot.

After sitting in something like the 997, I expect my new car to be as good if not better, and the 63 has pleased me up to this point (120miles on the clock).

No rattles whatsoever, and most importantly no greasy windows.

I'll have some teaser pics up today and next week I'll post some new pics again after it's been lowered/painted grille etc.

I've owned 3 MBZs over the years, a '90 190 E 2.6, an '00 ML320, and an '04 E55. The 190 was a tank! Great car, great trans, put over 120,000 miles on it. AC went out once, and broke a 99¢ piece on the throttle body, other than that no problems. The ML was a POS, and the E's been not too bad, blower motor went out, brake squeek, radio malfunctions (cured by a software upgrade) and that's about it. It's a great car, the build is really tight. After coming back from a trip and the use of a rental car it's great to get back behind the wheel.

good luck.

Samething here 99 ML320 works good done 202,000 km's since MAy 3rd 99 and still is working A okay, 06 SLK55 AMG quality has imporved alot , Very satisfied and they are more fun to drive compared to the old Benzes that were sometimes heavy to drive yet boring at the same time.
