Beautiful, without a doubt. As much fun as the 997S? Not a chance. But if you want to give up some sport for luxury and exclusivity its a good choice. It desperately needs more power. if they were aiming for the 997S by producing this vehicle they are off target.

flyboy is infamous around these parts
I thought very seriously about one of these. My previous cars were a Maserati Coupe and an SL 500, and the Vantage is more in the vein of those cars, ie. very stylish and good, but not stellar performance. I ultimately got the 4S for the performance and build quality. The Vantage certainly is a beautiful car, as was my Maserati, but the build quality on the Maser was atrocious (dealer repurchased under lemon law), and I was equally concerned about the build quality on the Vantage. Now that Aston Martin is up for sale, those concerns are compounded.

If exclusivity and styling are more important to you than performance, go for the Vantage. If performance and reliability are more important (especially if you plan to track the car), the 911 is your ticket.

I think its a good looking car, but i think the 911 is much better looking. it doesnt offer the performance i would like and i dont like how the interior is basically a volvo inside. nice car though, still cannot compete with the 911 as it was intended to do!

I almost put a deposit on one, but the 24-month wait and the questionable reliability put me off. Given Porsche's rock-solid resale value, reputation for quality, performance, pedigree, etc., I had to go with the Carrera S.

In retrospect, I wish I'd worked my budget a little harder and gone for the 997 GT3.

The Aston (to me) is the best sounding, best looking car on the road today.
