engine failure

i own an 05 c2s,40,740 miles. i ordered this car new. i have done my scheduled maintenance, never tracked, one autocross. always dealer serviced in socal. i was do'n about 60 mph when i looked in my rear view mirrow and saw a large puff of blue smoke, engine death, turns out. 24 hours since event, dealer has informed me the engine seized and will get back to me with porsche's ruling, can't wait!! i will keep you guys updated on this situation. anyways i love this website and have viewed it often since purchasing my beautiful 997. have a happy new year...later, no mods, totally stock..

Sorry to hear about that.. unless you have some mods it should be covered. With Porsche if there is a failure anywhere in the engine; they will most likely replace the whole thing.

Although, you would need to break-in your engine again.

update; talked to svc. rep. he said my warranty claim has been denied cus of 6 type 2 overevs. 4 were not that bad one should have destroyed the engine( about 3-4 months ago) and the other was plenty bad. svc. rep. suggested that i call porsche customer svc.800 #. i did , blah, blah, blah. no help. maybe i don't deserve to have this warranty claim validated, i guess not, but i am go'n to try and move up the chaim of command, maybe find a simpathethic ear to a porsche lover.
