28. bought Tip because of daily driving in terrible metropol. Coming from SMG M3, can you say I hate the transmission on my car.

This is one of the reasons I may not own a Porsche again. What a waste.

I'm 29, prefer Manual even in the crazy LA traffic.
The E350 automatic cause of the wifey otherwise would have purchased another car with a Manual tranny.

I am 31 years old and have had two 911s, both manuals. I dont think that I would buy a 911 in tip. The tip would not give me the sports car feeling that I would get from a manual P-car.

Hey DrJay2, I too am a radiologist.
37
997s - stick
boxster - tip
caymanS - stick (on order)
although a tip is nice when you have cup of coffee in your hand, my next p cars will likely be manual; for me, the tip feels too disconnected from the driving experience

I drive a Tiptronic...track days too! I lost my entire left leg 4 years ago while riding my motorcycle (998S Ducati) when a mini-van took a left turn into me. I have no leg to push the clutch with although I wear a prosthetic.

I am 41 years old and work in the music industry, drums and percussion. My 2001 Boxter S with a stick and the 4 Vettes I woned were all stick.

However I am enjoying the Tip. I got to drive a Maserati last month with the Ferrari F1 tranny and a BMW M5 with their clutchless manual. WOW I can't wait till Porsche does something like this.

As a bike rider myself, your post just awares me of the unexpected dangers of riding and how careless other drivers can be against the motorbikers. It is a shame that while other manufacturers are almost releasing 3rd generations of the trannies you mention above, we are still speculating about the launch of first generation of the Porsche tranny. Those above are all sequentials while Porsches one is a PDK (DSG) I did not like any of the DSG trannies I drove in Audi, VW cars. Although I have to admit, way better and responsive than the tip.

27 Manual 996. A sports Car you MUST have a manual. Just my opinion though
