Bias for what? I am not a blind "Porsche rules" guy - I would agree with you 100% if the argument of why I didn't get a Gallardo was because of price. It just wasn't the case with the 911 - I don't like the Turbo's looks, I don't like the wheels. I can't use the extra performance around here. It was mighty tempting, but looking at my car in the garage keeps me happy.

FWIW, the other cars I considered were the M5, V8 Vantage, and 996TT. I finally narrowed it down to the 911 and Vantage, and I decided it when my friend from Motor Trend gave me the "real scoop" of the 911 vs. Vantage. Needless to say, I am very happy with my choice.

Are you serious?? This has got to be the dumbest statement of the year.

staying closer than expected and pulling on a TT is two completely different things. i don't think anyone here is lying. maybe there were some other strange variables during the original poster's race. let's be realistic about the straight line highway performance differences between the two though..... the turbo's are monsters on the highway when they get to stretch it out in fourth.

Not offended, just amazed at the ignorant statements and then again at the claim of bias after we explained ourselves...

Not offended just thought you were smarter than your comments. Once again I am wrong but heck on the internet we can be anything.

Just to be clear........I have yet to beat or pull on a 996TT and don't think I ever will. I only said I was able to hang on much closer than I ever thought I could.

when shopping for my car, i considered many cars: NSX, Z06, Cayman S, RS4, M5, 996tt, 996 GT3

it boiled down to 996tt, 996 GT3 and 997S (m5 was out b/c those morons ruined an m car again by making dsc permanent on the stick )

the tt was too soft for me, i didnt like the fact that you didnt have to work for the speed, there was power everywhere and i hate 4wd cars.

the gt3 was too low/stiff for my everyday 50mi commute to school.

if i wanted a drag car, i wouldve got a z06.

i got the 997S b/c its got enough power for everyday driving, it handles great, its light, rwd, and the suspension can be "switched" at a push of a button.

I wouldn't be the least suprised to find there are many on this forum who are over extended but still driving new 997's. Many of those very same people wouldn't hesitate to drive a 997TT if they could some how manage it. Don't kid yourselves.
Yeah Dude, your absolutely right..............we are all just kidding ourselves.
