Spied: 2008-2009 Porsche 911 facelift

As one can see in this latest round of photos showing nearly undisguised 911 prototype, Porsche seems to be ready with the upcoming facelift of the 911-range.

Sources expect the facelifted 911 to make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show later this year. While we can be sure that the normal 911 coupé and the soft-top will receive the facelift, it remains uncertain whether or not the makeover will also include the brand-new 911 Turbo, and the yet-to-be-released Turbo Cabrio.
While the cabin might get a bit of polish, sources believe power will continue to come from the current 3.6- or 3.8-liter flat-six with an output of 325 and 355 bhp respectively.
Exterior modifications will include a new layout for the headlights, all-new taillamps, as well as a re-designed front bumper with more aggressive air-intakes, which carry over the styling from those of the new 911 Turbo. Finally, the rear bumper will also be updated.

Nice find, I do like it. What can you do? There is always something on the horizon. That looks like a c4s right?

It looks like a set of widebody rear wheels, but doesn't look like the widebody bumper (the bumper sticking out slightly past the sides of the taillight housings). Maybe they're not going to have that anymore, and the taillights will be flush with the bumper on all models. That could be a C4S front bumper.

These were my observations when I saw these back in December here:
http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...e-911-facelift

Please note: There are two different mules in the pics above. A coupe and a cab.

It also appears to have a 996 C4S-esque front bumper with 987 Boxster type lights at the top of the large side vents. The section that houses the tailpipes is more distinguished from the lower portion of the rear bumper, as it appears that area is now sectioned off from the bumper.

I like it, but IMO it was not needed. I would have rather wished Porsche invest the time and money into advances into the engine and more HP, torque and better efficiency.

I don't understand the purpose of this facelift if there is no power upgrade.
