What about some aftermarket options? Who has installed a head unit other than Bose into their Porsche? Love to hear what has been done out there.

 

bose or not bose will never be good enough if you are after high quality sound. but i think bose certainly adds enough to the sound and bass if you are just looking for a descent system. i have had bose on 2 porsche and they are much better compared to non-bose i have heard.

but like i said, even the bose system is not going to shake your seat and emphasize every tone and pitch.

i did have a reus system put in several months ago. it made a dramatic improvment. it is steath and utilize most of the OEM components. it puts a smile on my face when i need some pure music.

i think reus can upgrade both bose and non-bose. but i think the end quliaty still differs and the cost may also vary.

as far as the cost of the bose.... i would do it based on what you are looking to get out of the car. i am pretty sure options such as full leather, permium color, painted center, alum accessories all cost more than the bose individually and will prob do less in terms of function. good luck.
