Flat after 300 miles!

Took a friend out for a spin last night. It was the first time he had seen the car since I bought it 3 weeks ago. Picked up a pretty LARGE bolt! I got the car safely trucked back into my garage late last night.

Now for the problem, no one has a replacement tire! Tire rack is out and they said they've been trying to get it in stock quote "for months".

I've called all of the Porsche dealerships within 100 miles and all local tire dealers.

I need a Pirelli Pzero Rosso 295/30 ZR 19 with N1 rating.

Help me obi wan kenobi...you're my only hope!

Having a flat is just a bad day, but those things happen. Not being able to buy a replacement is infuritating.

Any help would be appreciated!

At the very least, thanks for letting me vent.

Sorry to hear...

Write/Call PCNA with your situation....

Speak to the GM of your dealership...

Somthing can be done....You may have to spring for 1 tire but get 4 of another brand.

Dump the Pirelli tires!!!!

Thanks for the quick responses guys. Just an update...although Tire Rack is out of stock they do hold back tires for the Porsche dealerships. My local dealership doesn't have this special set up with them, but one in the next city over does. So they have been very helpful and said they could get one fedexed this week. I'm relieved. I had the nightmare scenario running through my head of waiting a month or two or springing for a set of Michelin Pilots. I'll get what wear I can out of these and probably switch to the Pilots.

I got the bolt out of the tire. It's almost 5 inches long and thicker than a pen. The end isn't even sharp so I can't imagine how it hit the tire like it did.

I'm assuming that even moving the car with the flat tire could damage the rim? I'm going to try to patch it just long enough to get it trucked to the dealer and moved into their garage.

Am I being too particular by having the dealer fix it? I'm sure the tire places are cheaper but I trust the dealer more than the tire garages.

Thanks again for the advice. I really appreciate it!

I got mine from the dealer. $500 for 4 years/unlimited mileage. Covers stock and aftermarket wheels and tires.

EDIT: I forgot mention that I got a flat within the first 3-4000 miles. $472 for a rear tire without the warranty (plus installation), so it has already paid for itself.

I took the car to the dealer last night. The wheel itself is cracked from the bolt that went through the tire. Total cost with tire, wheel and installation = $1750. I hope the next 365 miles are cheaper.

On the bright side he expects the new wheel to arrive early next week just in time for some Spring weather here in Ohio.
