It's an awesome machine as it is, no need to pretend it's something else!
The solution here lies in the European tradition of down-badging: those with "real" models will often take the badge from a lesser vehicle so as not to draw too much attention to oneself. He can always say he changed the brakes and exhaust and etc. from his "real" GT3 to disguise it as a lowly C2.

In the early 1980's when Nissan was still Datsun, my dad and his friend both bought brand-new model Maximas that no one had ever seen before. They put a Mercedes star on the hood and the center of the steering wheel and no one had any idea what the hell the thing was and they were sure interested in finding out.

This thread/post has really stumped me. I love the way my car looks with the badges............................but I also like the way it looks with no badge at all.

Damn. I don't know what to do. In the meantime.........nothing...I guess.

The primary benefit of debadging is not all the stuff in this thread about what model you own, advertising your car's power and prowess, avoiding wax buildup and dirt catching, aerodynamic cleanliness - no the real reson to DE-BADGE:

the weight savings......

That is funny!! I do need to lose some weight, and this would be one way to help that out!!

The wax buildup and dirt catching are really good points. I guess I could take the badges off, and see how I like it. Could always put them back on.

Easy - you only need some glue and a magnet! Then you can have it on every other day

I changed mine twice! First I went from chrome to black and then from black to brushed aluminum.

Very easy to remove but I'd suggest putting blue masking tape around the badge and then marking where the badge should go. That's how I knew exactly where the new badge should be placed. I did use dental floss with a hairblower and yes, it kept breaking. I eventually got it off.
