Removing the Carrera S badge

Slide dental floss under it while you use a hair dryer to warm the adhesive. You will probably need to use some goo-gone to remove the adhesive that is left after you remove the badge. Just make sure you wash the area when you are done and apply a coat of wax or polish.

I think it's a sacrilege to remove the badge...but hey...that's me

Dental floss, and some liquid "bug & tar" remover worked wonders for me! Waxing removes the left over "crud" and such, but does make it hard to put on a replacement sticker/emblem. A little isopropyl alcohol fixes that.

I always get my cars from the factory without the badge, but when I didn't have that option, I pre-moistened with alcohol, used fishing line, and then the alcohol again. I tried to avoid goo-gone or goof off because I was concerned about possible damage to the clear coat (mineral spirit content). In both of my past purchases, the dealer gave me a badge in case I ever wanted it.
As to why debadge, why would I want that script on the back of my car? It catches dirt and debris, is hard to wash, is a repository for wax build up, etc. Why would I care that the guy driving behind me (probably way behind) knows if I have a Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, or Carrera 4S? It's obviously a porsche - heck it even says so in the back window
The people that I am interested in talking about my car will either know or will ask. For example "Nice car, I see by the brakes it's an S - any mods???" I don't think there would ever be a conversation that goes "I see from your badge it's an S - care to talk about it?"
