Porsche AG should change the owner's manual to read," keep the RPMs under 4200 from the time you leave the delivering dealer until you get to the race track".

Change oil at 3,000 miles.

My point is that the PSDS is owned by Porsche. As far as I know, the cars are shipped from factory to Birmingham. They are then sold afterwards to dealers across the country. In my opinion, and I'm certainly no expert on this topic, it seems unlikely that these cars are encouraged to be pushed from the get-go and then sold with apparently no problems and no complaints.

Since it's so good, would you like to buy some "aged" oil after my next oil change ? Lol

Break-in period - from what I've been told by the dealer:

More for the customer to become comfortable with the car (and not get killed) rather than the engine itself.

Today's engines don't need the same break-in period as older ones.

Hope this helps.

Smart *** but true. I don't care what they say, I love the feel of a fresh oil change. I know it sounds silly but I can feel the engine run smoother and better right after a nice system flush.

You're right, that sounds silly. The same people can "feel" the extra 30 hp from an exhaust install, and the 10 hp from some vendor stickers.

If it makes you feel better I had it over 6k rpms the first day with less than 100 miles on it. No problems here. Good luck and enjoy it.

I'm just saying I must have a better feel for cars than you do. Maybe I'm like a "car whisperer" or something like that.
