Speaking of wasting time .
Why on earth would I drive to Pa. to visit a muffler welder ?
Do you think I could learn something by watching him making a home movie about mufflers on his driveway ?

JCS, what is your problem with Fabspeed mufflers? You just don't like them because there was a video made for the Internet in a driveway? How can you talk about a product you have never seen or experienced in person?

Yes I have Fabspeed mufflers on my car. So far 9000 miles and plenty of hard track days and they are still holding and will hold up many years down the road. I got them because they sound great and I need to hear my engine rev's in the car with a helmet on. I can't really feel a performance difference but it is hard to feel 8-12hp anyway on a 355hp engine.

I have called the guys at Fabspeed before I bought the mufflers and a few times after and they have always been very good to speak with. They promote their products just as many other manufactures promote products in the automotive market.

If you don't like a product that is fine but you have to be fair and have a good reason like product failure or fitment problems. Just because a video was done in a drive way and you not liking Fabspeed because of there choice of scenery is not a fair assessment.

I do not have a problem with Fabspeed per se.
I have a problem with anyone who makes off the wall absurd performance claims .
Enjoy your mufflers.

globalm, Suncoast Porsche has the best price on Fabspeed mufflers and also complete exhaust (ie headers and so forth). It should take a tech and hour or 2 at the most to take off the stock mufflers and install the aftermarket mufflers. There was a huge difference at idle and especially at 5000-7200rpm with the Fabspeed. They really wail like a cup car.

That picture shows the standard Carrera tips for some reason...it ships without tips and your stock dual tips slip right on.

Great question.....my car was a dealer locator and came with stock exhaust. Bolting up the Fabspeed mufflers was the easiest thing to and I like the way they sound. I drove a car with PSE for 2 days at Barber Motorsport during the Porsche sport driving school and it was nice too. I also test drove a PSE car from my dealer. Also I like the idea of less weight in the back with the Fabspeed even though it really does not matter all that much on the track and zero on the street to me but it's nice in my mind. A guy up my street has PSE and my Fabspeed sounds a little deeper and I liked that. Being able to turn PSE on and off did not matter to me because I feel PSE is not really all that loud.

If I had to do it all over again with another car I would buy Fabspeed again but I'd also seriously look into the new Borla mufflers too. I've heard Tubi and they are super quiet and sound no different at idle and cruising that stock. I heard AWE just once and like what was posted on another board in the middle of 2006 they sound a little farty/airey to me and are quiet too.

mdrums, since you are in florida... maybe go to champion, ask for Jesse and listne to some tubis. I forgot how light those things really are. They use very light alloy and you really do get some weight savings there...

Hi Alex, I did just that last year. I travel all over the southern USA and during one of my biz trips I stopped into Champion Mototrsports. They brought out the F77 car to show me. The car at idle and driving around the parking lot was stock quiet. A guy that does track days with us at Sebring (he posts over on another p-car board) has Tubi and his car is very quiet. Nothing wrong with Tubi and I like them and they are built well I just wanted a little more sound.

seems like it is to me but also the tone is different by being a little deeper tone and more of a wail sound at 5k to redline. PSE sounds more nasal/hollow like at idle and putting around. I really love the sound of PSE though.
