Sport Exhaust Vs. PSE
#31
Most power is going to come from replacing the cats with high flow units - 200 CEL or similar.
Porsche Engineers dont squeeze every HP possible out of the cars exhaust, they have sound issues to worry about (legal stuff, quite low in Europe) and emmissions issues. Take these both away and there is a few HP hiding and even better - weight reduction off the a$$ end - with aftmarket exhausts.

The PSE sounds cool when opened up. It is actually quieter when off than stock. What I DID find was that I needed to open it up on the track to better hear the engine RPM's. There really is no discernable difference in HP (the sports chrono throttle changes are nice but not a requirement), but I found I needed the extra feedback sound from the PSE to know where I was at when I was too preoccupied to look at the tach. Someone else had a FabSpeed exhaust and it sounded nifty, but after 300 miles of highway driving it gets a little "old" to hear the exhaust just for the cool factor. Short Short: I like the PSE because I can turn it off and on.
