Possible to drive a C2S all year round in Canada's winter?

I've never owned a RWD 911, but I drive my 997TT (and previously my 996TT) in winter all the time. With snow tires, low temperatures, the dry dense air gives my TT an extra kick in the rear and all I can do is smile. I hear we're getting 12 inches tonight....Wheeeee!!!!!!

Living in Finland (=the home of Santa) and driving a 997 C4S for year 2007 to summer 2008 I believe that I'm honoured to report that the car is totally suitable for winter conditions. I've driven the C2S up on a 25 degree slope and it kicks up as well... juts love the hips of an 4S.

Good for you!

It's a great shame that those 911 owners who hibernate when the weather changes cannot be given the experience to show them that driving in the snow can actually be fun and is nothing to be afraid of. Maybe Porsche can discount Camp4 USA for current owners to keep them in the faith.

In really bad weather when the snow is deeper than 4" then stay home or take the bus. The car acts like a snow plough regardless of rwd or awd.[/quote]
+1, my main concern would be using it as a plow and deteriorating the front lip due to ice chunks on the road. I live about 45 mins outside of the GTA and would never dream of driving the pcar here as it takes them forever to plow the roads, too much deep snow at times. This past few days has been a good example of the foul weather we endure.
Good luck, keep it safe.

My 997 S Cab has been great thus far. I am amazed at its winter performance. Although, I have a 2008 X5, with the exception of a few bad snowy days, I still find myself in my porsche more often than the BMW. If I was planning to keep my porsche until I am 90, I am sure it is stored right now. Since most of us only own these cars for an average of 2-4 years, lets make use of them guys!!! before we trade it in for a new one( or not). These cars are made to be driven, like most of them in Germany. Anyway, I need some advice guys. I got my winter tires/rims from Pfaff, the recommended tires for the 997S were supposed to be the Pirelli sotto zero F-235/40/18, R-265/40/18 instead they gave me the Nokian F-235/40/18, R-295/35/18, which is recommended for 997 Turbo and 4S. Should I go back for the exchange or should I keep the wider winter tires, perhaps, better traction...
