How to get wheelspin while shifting
#16
drive a modded gt2 or a rwd turbo
there's nothing like shifting into 2nd or 3rd gear... have the car pull, THEN spin the tires while already in that gear, accelerating
turbo lag, gotta love it, sometimes !

2. Minimal wheelspeen while upshifting is an ideal shift for your information.
3. To chirp gears you must go to redline, shift fast while not removing your foot of the gas completely.

When you grow up, you may learn that no matter how much money you accumulate , only a Moron would burn it .
To 2:
(wheelspeen ? do you mean wheel spin ?)
I did not know that the IDEAL SHIFT requires spinning the wheels each time you change gears . I guess I have been doing it wrong all these years .
Thank you for educating me.
Does this apply to reverse gear when backing out of the garage as well ?
To 3:
Since I believe that part of driving a Sports car is to try to SHIFT IDEALLY , from now on I will go to red line each time and make sure it CHIRPS .
Do you have to make it chirp for the IDEAL down shift as well ?

2. Yes I guess you have been doing it wrong all these years. Maybe if we meet one day I can teach a "grown up" like yourself how to drive.
3. You do that, but if it doesnt chirp, your car it probably a lemon.

I think the fact of the matter is that it's pretty difficult to make those fat tires chirp on a 911! Whether its good/bad is up to the owner. Either way, he smoked that m3, so wheelspin or not, I'm glad.
What other cars have you raced w/ the Carrera S?

Now, now children. Let's play nice.
Bottom line is that it's simply a matter of physics. When the wheels spin you loose traction (less friction = less speed).
The sand box has enough sand for all your pails. Don't throw it one another!

Actually , since you don't have mufflers on your car,
I'm amazed that you can still hear the chirp since you only shift at redline .
And if I installed the Fabspeed "cold air kit" rubber elbow
like you have , do you think I could get my lemon to chirp ?
I don't need a big chirp . Just a little one . Lol

Hey Vicious,
I am a Porsche enthusiast, and overall car-guy. I joined this forum, and participate so I can learn and fuel my curiosity.
Your comments such as: "Sigh, and even too much of a pansy to post what you origionally stated. Run along noob." don't add any value to the conversation- do you realize that?
If you want to be nasty or irrelevant or a name-caller, there's probably a more appropriate forum for you elsewhere on the web.
Thanks,
Cattman

Serious part. Armorall the crap out of your tires. Leave 'em dripping. OK I guess it wasn't that serious.
