2 questions...

What aftermarket pads will work best on my 997 c2s at the track?

What short shifter is best in your opinions?

Thanks!

The stick may or may not be the same , but the throws are a little different.

Also, the OEM comes completely installed in a new housing and all it takes to install is to remove and re-install 4 bolts and reconnect the two cables.

If you go with the B&M you will need to break the bushings to remove the OEM stick and then install the new shifter . If you plan on doing it yourself, it's a lot more work , but you will save a few $$ .

If you have someone else install it , due to the additional labor, the total installation probably will cost the same or maybe even more , and you wind up with an aftermarket contraption , held in place with a couple of cotter pins .

You can use the stock pad for the track. They will work just fine especially for your 1st year. I have been doing track events since last November on stock pads and just graduated to solo and still using stock oem pads. If you want to check out aftermarket pads Pagid seems like the ones everyone is using. Go to their website for all the details.

I love carbotechs or cobalt friction pads on the track... but to really enjoy it, you need some sticky R Comps... stock tires can't handle real race pads.
