My favorite line about the RS4 is that their engine has no advanced features.... So exactly when will BMW have FSI (high-pressure direct injection)?
I love how they say the 997 makes do with "only" 325 hp. They should be embarrassed that the 911 keeps up with almost 100hp less. Damn, I wish I could have kept my Carrera S and the RS4. Then I'd be ALMOST good enough to hang with the new M3.

By coincidence the new M3 lost for the second time (out of 2 possible) vs. the RS4...
Note one of the comments: "The E46 M3 CS just pipped the RS4 (same author - same magazine) - thus I for one am disappointed in the new M3's results."

The 335i also beat the RS4 in a track test according to another magazine comparison...
Does this mean 335i > RS4 > M3?
I'd read the article before taking it too seriously. Magazines frequently put stupid crap in their articles like how they dont like the interior styling or other stuff like that. They've probably taken into account the fact that the RS4 has more doors than the M3 (duh) which makes it more practical.

That is an internal document... It is supposed to be confidential and its a tool for BMW sales staff to help sell cars. Its to inspire confidence in salesmen and others who work for the company so they may represent BMW in a very positive way. That was never supposed to be public (though they should know by now everything gets out). I read that document a little over a month ago (I work for a BMW dealership) and was wondering if it would ever get out.... Got my answer...

What's been said is correct.. I worked for BMW when the E36 M3 came out, and there were internal sales documents just like this comparing the E36 to everything from a Corvette to a 911 and even the E30 M3.. I'm sure they did the same for the E46.. so it's not like BMW is bragging, this is esentially a sales tool so that their "sales advisors" or whatever they're calling them nowadays have some background information in case someone walks in, interesting in an M3 and says, "I'm considering a 911 or RS4". I'd say there is some competitive information there.

I would love to see what BMW says about the new C63. It would probably sound like this
"On paper and the road the C63 is the most powerful completion here. Unfortunately, the only opportunity that we had to view the C63 was from the rear. "Which by the way looked horrible" says Chris Bangle. We will report more as soon as we can catch it....when it stops."
