Why no LSD standard

I love 911's but why doesn't porsche have LSD standard?
Is it a cost issue? Or Porsche doesn't believe in LSD's??

ragdoll is infamous around these parts
Excellent question. Any sports car over (arbitrary number)$40k should have it.

Why didn't anyone respond to this?

They don't have it as standard probably because they know that anyone who wants it is willing to pay for it. I think most things in life come down to money.

Do you have a 911? Not trying to be rude but the traction on a rear engined car is like night and day compared to an FR layout. Porsche decided that it was unnecessary for most drivers who do not track their cars. On the street the car has plenty of grip and really doesn't need it IMHO.

Lsd

I have it and and don't plan on tracking my car, but it is nice to know that I have extra traction and power under harder acceleration or cornering.

The question I have is why does Porsche sell the PASM Sports Suspension Package for $950 and the LSD on it's own for $950 when PSAM sport comes with LSD and the benefit of an even lower ride height and adjustable damping?

PASM Sports Suspension Package - Electronically variable active damping system with two manually selectable modes and limited slip rear differential lock. Ride height lowered by 20 mm.

Limited Slip Rear Differential Lock - Friction disc lock on rear axle. Pull - 22% and Push - 27%.

If I had the choice based on this information I would choose PASM Pkg.

Anyone know why?

From an economic point of view it is better to not get the OEM lSD if you are tracking/AutoX. It will not last and you will need to upgrade to a Cup, Guards, Osgiken LSD. Cheaper to just get it without and do the upgraded LSD right off the bat.

Anywhere from about $1500 to $3000 plus installation. I don't have the individual $$$ for each option. Labor for install should be the same for each unit.
