By the way, much props to you for using the PSS9 PASM's instead of throwing lowering springs on your car.

Thanks man. I had 'em on actually. H&Rs. Swapped out as soon as PSS for PASM came out. I had the H&Rs on there to hold me over, if you know what I mean. Car would've looked silly sitting high with 20s, so I did a temporary lowering job with the H&Rs.

Mac, I would PM, but I don't know how much it cost. I got an overall price on the whole shebang... K40 radar/laser detector install too. It wasn't itemized. Sorry buddy.

deputydog, the PSS setup is stiffer (as I have it) and it is much tighter feeling. It's nowhere near as comfy as the stock one, even in its softest mode. I love it though. It's just a whole different car with them. On the track, my car absolutely does not lean. I love it. Just watched a video of a complete session. Crazy flat cornering. I know there's harder-core systems out there, but I can't imagine...

Hey everyone,

I just thought I'd post what I have in my car in case any of you might need something to show your stereo guys... mainly with the box. I'm really happy with it, so I'll start off there.

It's a custom made fiberglass box for two JL Audio 8" subs. It's a sealed enclosure, but there's no divider inside between the two. These here are 8W1s. I have 8W3s coming. The box was then covered in a very good match of leatherlike material. Then, the fellas did a great job at matching the Porsche interior stitching. They fit snug behind the rear seats when they are up. I had it done this way because I'm having a roll bar installed next week and knew that I needed all the room from the seat backs forward. It's really amazing how well it fit in first try. Check out these pics.

Then, I have my install of the Pioneer AVIC-D3 Nav Unit. It's not a very imaginative install, but it works. I'll be trying to have a better surround made and then install it. In the meantime, it's working fine.

For some unknown but frustrating reason, I can't get the pic of my amps to upload. But, the install's basic and I'm happy with it. It's a JL Audio 300/2 amp for the Focal components in the doors and a JL Audio 250/1 for the subs.

When the 8W3s come in, the amp will go to a 500/1. PorscheAudio, what do you think, buddy?
JARED,
Everything looks great at least until i show all you guys how a 997 system is suppose to look like .My custom box is done all fiberglass also .It has 2 10" w3v3 woofers and fits behind the rear seats just like yours only it will really hit .Also have a special surprise that will be seen in the pics. Power will be supplied by Alpine PDX amps so 1000 watts for my 2 10's and another 600 watts for the FOCAL UTOPIA .My car is comeing along great .I had my guys stop wortking today and pulled all the equipment out and put the factory stereo and amps back cause i am going to streets of willow on sunday for a track day .Cant wait i am so excited . My car will be completed just before the LA AUTO SHOW as it will be on display.New shoes will also be on at that time .Brand new HRE cant say what model # its hush hush .
Im happy to hear you went w/ the k2p's i thought you were geting the 165VR3 3 way set.

Why PDX amps? Other than the fact that they're small, they sound kind of flat and do not hit like an equivalent wattage conventional amplifier. I've heard two show cars now with them, and I was really disappointed as that was the route I wanted to go due to their size. Both cars were using Focals (gallardo spyder and SE saleen rustang). They are very practical due to their low amperage draw and easy installation options. And they do look good. If only they sounded good

You are special . It just seems like everyone on this forum has an unlimted amount of funds to dump into their cars .And now your everyday car is turning out to be a race track *****. So maybe you should just consider buying a gt3rs for the track and keep your supercharged 997S for the street .

Just looking back at an old thread I started. Wow. How time flies. Still, as I read this thread, PORSCHEAUDIO still sounds like a total dick.
