Forced induction is not needed
Again, keep in mind this one is CARB approved, much more difficult to do these numbers and get it past emissions.

Most people are going to put in different cams etc once they get it and unlock a ton of power.

CARB approval had nothing to do w/ the stupid conversation that was going on w/ how you can't get reliable power out of those things w/ out some FI

CARB approval just proves the point that you can even further

Gotcha, yeah there are several tuners pumping out 600 horsepower without any real issues on those engines. They are potent little beasts. Katech has one already with stock displacement, for right around 7k i believe they bump it up to 600 and 530 pounds of torque.

Are you serious? $225k? What have they been smoking? For that money I would MUCH rather have a 997 GT2!

yeah I agree the price is sort of in the "OMG" range ..lol, but that being said, the GT2 is not going to be cheap; seeing as how the dealers are doing crazy markups on them. I have heard prices as high as 300k + taxes (run for the hills) for a GT2 here in Canada and our dollar is supposed to be stronger than the US dollar

But none the less it should beat a 997 GT2 overall. Seeing as how the c6rs is lighter than a z06 cuz of all that CF; more aerodynamic; 600hp @ 600ft/lbs.

Good drugs? That's what you must have taken to state this or are you just talking out your ****? Check out the following lap times and see where the GT2 and any 'Vette times are posted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nordsch...test_lap_times

You don't think with sticky tires and all these mods they can't take ten seconds off that time?

Nope, at this level of performance, 10 seconds is an eternity.

You do realize that time for the Z06 was run on the stock runcraps that grip about as well as roller skate wheels. Less weight, real tires, more areodynamic, better suspension, tons more power etc on a track 14 miles long and it should be possible, witness the drastic time differences posted for GT3's that were using semi race tires.

no i think it is you who is on some good drugs..lol

Especially if you think a car which is lighter than the current gen z06 (which is around 3100lbs and change), which will automatically make it lighter than the GT2 997(which also weighs in at 3100lbs and change). has more horsepower and torque than the GT2. Far more refined suspension and better tires compared to that of the z06 will not hang with or take a GT2 overall?

I'll just sit back and wait for the real world comparo, it will eventually happen. We will talk again and one of us will get to say "told you so".

BTW, Osirisvb, I see that you've changed your original post which stated: "But none the less it should beat a 997 GT2 for lunch, dinner and breakfast". THAT is what got me started.

It's not even a fair comparo. This vette will beat the GT2, but of course it will, it's basically a race car.
