New 66 Fastback Engine Config (pix, vids)
I just finished a few engine mods on my 66 Fastback. I changed the blower to a Vortech T trim (was running an S trim), 75 pound injectors (was running 42's), and installed programmable EFI (Big Stuff3). The EFI is trick, no more chips for me, now I program what I want (fuel, timing, AFR's, temps, etc.) It is so advanced, that I can actually control fuel and spark to each cylinder indendently. With my GT40 intake, cylinders 2 and 8 always run lean, now I can adjust for more fuel in those cylinders! We set up the full load parameters on the dyno, then used the lap top to set the driveability on the street. It runs awesome. I will upload the dyno sheet tomorrow. It's laying down 569 to the wheels, 550 tq. With drive train loss, that's about 670 crank (or so). All 550 tq is on tap at 3400 and you can hear it break traction at will in 2nd, and on shifts to 3rd. It's a handful for a small block!
R block
331 Eagle stroker, forged
Vortech T trim (14.2 psi)
GT40 intake
70mm throttle body
75 pound injectors
TKO 5 speed
Ford 9", 3:73
Gold Trac posir
TCP coilovers front and rear
TCP power rack and pinion
CNC 6 piston fronts, 4 piston backs (14" rotors)
Here's what it sounds like on the street...

It is a Ford Racing 302, then stroked to 331. Some people call them SVO R 302, but commonly know as an "R" block. They are pretty strong, I know of one that is running 1800 HP (twin turbo) in a Pro Stock config. The block is not the weak link, head gaskets and pistons are.

It's a little tricky for sure. First gear is useless, you have to pedal all of 2nd, 3rd is okay on traction, unless you stab it, then the tires just can't handle 550 of torque at 3400 and it will break loose. (The T trim race blower from Vortech hits like a hammer, the S trim blower was linear. There is a HUGE difference in torque). The TCP is set up for road race, not to hook in the quarter. The car is not tubbed, so I am really limited to the amount of rubber I can stuff under it. It's a street car with a 23K paint job, but I should take it to Willow Springs and let it run...it would be a blast.

Can't wait! That will be a blast, we'll have the ghettobirds out in no time as this thing sounds like a NASCAR. I'm sure your 427 is just as loud!
