Autoweek video; Graham Rahal & ZR1
Young Mr. Rahal puts the boot to the ZR1 at GM's Milford Road course. Unfortunately there is no in car audio but at least they dubbed Graham's commentary over the video. He says some interesting things about the ZR1 especially, IMO, as it relates to the Z06 version.

There is an incredible burn out video (different from the video previously posted in this section) included with the Rahal video in the on-line link below. If I understand the text correctly, burn outs/donuts courtesy of the same Jim Mero who smoked the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:26 in a ZR1.

That will certainly raise some eyebrows for sure among Corvette owners/enthusiasts. It's interesting how Rahal thinks the Z06 is more of a 'pure track car' than the ZR1. If Rahal's comments are in line with future comments about the r1 I think GM may have a little explaining to do.

I have said for a long time that on most courses the Z06 will most likely be quicker.

Chevy: Put new seats and tires on the Z06 and then noone will question which is better around the track. Done.
Other than that, I'm glad I've got my Z06 and GT-R. All I need now is 300k+ that I can blow so I can buy my Ford GT and ZR1 to complete my dream garage.

ZR1 will be far faster car than the ZO6 and far more comfortable. GM has stated many times that they didnt want this car to be a track only car. I say that this gives GM a bit more wriggling room in the future with a track version of the ZR1, something like the GT2, V Spec, ACR.

Graham is a cool f-ing kid! I met him about a year ago through some friends, and man he is one of the most interesting people to talk cars with. Super humble kid, but totally knows what's up and considering his driving skill he has some credibility.

As good as the Porsche GT2, GM didnt want the ZR1 to be compared to it. The ZR1 is strikingly fast but as far as GM was concerned they were aiming for the Ferrari 599 type car. I say good on GM for producing a very fast and very comfortable car all in one package.
I wonder what Clarkson would complain about now since the ox cart Corvette suspension handles better and is more comfortable than many exotics.
