There are more people on the hunt for Vipers than ever before. I'm sure current prices are rock bottom. Hands down, it's easily as close to exotic as you can get in this country, at a bargain price.
Prices will definately go back up if/when the economy comes back.
01/02s with low mileage are still pulling $50k with the right color combos. They are an icon, and always will be.

Sad day indeed if the Viper does got the way of the Dodo bird. It came, it saw, it, conquered. Just the racing wins its racked up all over the world should be enough to keep it around. In its relatively short life span it has accomplished so much both as a street car and a racecar. Prestige cars like Lamborghini, Pagani etc cant hold a candle to the Viper in racing heritage and wins etc.
The Viper more than earned the right to keep living on. Its really a shame if Fiat decide to kill it. However Id prefer it killed off than neutered just so Fiat can keep Ferrari as its top dog performancewise. The comparably cheap ACR, which is far from optimized for the Ring, is 3 secs faster than the million dollar Enzo which is the fastest Ferrari ever built for the road and track. How do you ax or neuter a car with this kind of pedigree and heritage?
Heres a bit of its racing history:
Overall victories at Nurburgring - 1999, 2001, 2002
Overall victories at 24 hours at Daytona - 2000
24 Hours of Le Mans - 1998,1999, 2000 [left Le Mans after 2000]
12 Hours of Sebring - 2000
Petit Le Mans - 1999
Fuji - 2001
Mil Milhas Brasileiras - 2004
FIA GT Championship - 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002
American Le Mans Series - 1999, 2000
FFSA GT championship - 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005
Belcar - 2002, 2003, 2004
Italian GT - 2003, 2004
Im not even going to mention all the other smaller series wins like SCCA etc. The car may be short on prestige and luxury but its beaten the worlds best many times over. Its long on proven racing accomplishments in such a short time. It needs to stick around. The very fact that they see the Viper as Ferrari competition performancewise speaks volumes about the cars abilities though it lacks the name brand and cache.

If they drop around the 32K range for a good 04+ I will be there with cash in hand,

That's not true, and anyone who wants an Enzo, wouldn't want a ACR. They are actually two very different cars for different customers....
