2010 Mustang question

nope... TR6060 w/ .50 6th I dont have a 'run of the mill' Mustang; ran90 from Lake Charles to Destin last weekend... 25ishmpg , enjoyed some C5 sparring as well as an Evo X.
And, on the contrary... top end is GREAT (for a Mustang)... neeeeed gear to get this heavy aerodynamic as a sheet of plywood rollin' past 120!
4th gear is great for Mexican 'interstate'... 4grand at 80, pulls to a little over 120.

12.51 is damn good for sticky tires, cross, k and n, control arms, and skinnies on a stock tuned mustang gt!

Just ordered from Ford new, GT500 spec... In Feb. I welded the clutch to the flywheel and distroyed synchros. When I rebuilt, I rebuilt usning heat treated gears, imporved shifting, and w/ .50 6th.

The time isn't bad, but it's got alot more mods then orginally lead to believe, that's all.

Cool, many don't realize what a difference a tranny swap can do. Hell, most don't know that the C5 Z06 tranny had totally different gears then a base C5.

He spotted a whole ton of changes for the 11 MY Mustang lineup, and after only a few days of the information being up it was taken done due to legal reasons.

It would be nice if the 2011 Mustang GT lost a couple of hundred pounds, came with optional IRS, and had a similar system to VDC found in Nissans/Infinitis.
My friend's VDC equipped G37 makes him look like a good driver in the twisties. He would crash if he turned it off.

the mustang gt(3600lbs) today is 200/250 lighter than the camaro ss. you want it to lose more weight? how is it going to lose weight when one adds the irs? the irs would add at least 100lbs to the car.

And thats exactly why you'll never find anything similar in a Mustang.

It was only a few years ago that a convertible Mustang GT weighed less than 3600 lbs. These cars are getting too heavy. I wonder when 4,000 lbs will be acceptable for a Mustang GT.
Maybe I'm just getting old. I think GT Coupes should not weigh more than 3,400 lbs. 3,200 lbs would be great!

It can be done. Look at the 2001 Cobra with a 4V and IRS. http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vdpconta...2/pageNumber=2

regardless of your answer its not hard to get the current mustang gt down to 3300. 2011 mustang gt with 400rwhp(n/a) and 3300lbs(after a few mods) will be one hell of a performer!

i believe ford thought they could sell the 10 model on the new body style changes alone and set back the new engine for a year. the 10 is a great car but with more power it in 11 it will be an excellent car!
