My 08 Jeep SRT-8

I've been on 6speed for a while and picked up a SRT-8 Jeep this summer. Got it washed, clay barred and waxed yesterday and wanted to share some pics of my truck on 6speed for the first time. I thought they turned out pretty well considering I have no idea what I'm doing.

To make this thread useful I'll share a quick review of my experience so far. The truck hauls *** from a dig. I raced my buddy's E63 and hung with him pretty good through about 80. He only had a couple cars on me. I can't wait to get an intake, tstat and tune and run him again. After ditching the ****ty Goodyear run flats it rides much better. Even though it's a Jeep, I really enjoy the interior and the creature comforts it has. The seats are FANTASTIC. It has bluetooth, 20GB hard drive, NAV, heated seats F&R, HIDs, rear DVD (that never gets used) etc. It's no german luxury but it suites my needs perfectly. Best of all I'm completely under the radar to anyone aside from people who seriously know their stuff, yet I might see one per month here in Austin. I do look forward to joining the Porsche family someday when I'm more financially secure and settled. Until then, I'll just have to go to and from the grocery store very quickly . If anyone ever has any questions feel free to PM me. I will give you a fair and thoughtful analysis as I have in past threads.

Enjoy!

Nice truck! Do you have any cosmetic mods planned?

Thanks. I'd entertain the idea of some gun metal/flat black wheels, especially if someone makes some 22" Viper replicas. The problem is that I'm sure I'd get caught up in tinted tails and dechroming after that. I'm not opposed to doing it but go fast goodies go on first!

Nice Jeep. This may be my next DD in the near future.

Great looking truck, I miss my SS sometimes and often think about picking up a SRT-8

Dark wheels with a polished lip would look cool. Are they easy to lower about 2"?

Many owners put lowering springs on it but I think you're risking wearing the shocks out more quickly, hurting the ride. They look good lowered though.

I agree some dark wheels would look great but I stay pretty tight on my mod budget. When I do splurge, go fast goodies are higher on my list than cosmetic mods. I'd like to get into mid-12s. Heads/mild cam can get you in the low 12s. I might look into that or S/C after it's out of warranty in a couple years.

I had one and loved it! Unfortunately I didn't fit in it. My head touched the roof with the seat at its lowest position.

Thanks for the compliments guys. It came with Magnaflow exhaust and I have an intake and tune on the way. I can't wait to get to the track but I don't think I'll be able to make it until at least mid/late January (work, holidays, national championship trip). I'm hoping to run high 12s with the mods. I'll update this thread once I run it.
