2010 Challenger SRT8

I love Mustangs, but just like what I ran into with my 99 Cobra you will run into the cost of adding N/A hp to the engine and with 11.5 to 1 CR it will not be able to handle the boost of the LS3. So from a strict knowing I will modify the car that makes it a hard choice.

They both trap right around 110 mph, also there was a test that the Mustang ran 13.1 as well. Mustang is about 2 tenths faster 0-60 but other than the launch advantage because of the solid rear axle the cars are close enough to be damn near identical.

It will be my daily driver, so all I plan on doing is bolt-ons. If I was doing FI or heads or cams etc I would get the LS3. But bolt-on's to bolt-ons it looks like the new 5.0 is gonna be king....

The Mustang 5.0 is the nicer car and its is " quicker " from what I have seen based on magazine tests, it also handles better. I personally think the Camaro looks better and that it will respond to all mods better since its not pushed as hard to make power as the 5.0 is.
Still all in all, its a great time to be a pony car enthusiast and have all of the choices to pick from! At this point for me the jury is out until I see what kind of power the Mustangs are able to put out from FI with the high CR. Its hard to beat the 500 rwhp available N/A for relatively easy or 600 plus rwhp availabe with FI for the LS3.

Also one thing to keep in mind, the Mustangs optional 3.73 gears and solid rear axle of course make it easier to launch off the line. I think on the street, it will be a drivers race wether from a dig or roll.

Your right, great time to buy a pony car. The biggest issue to me with the Camaro is driving position. I am over 6-1 and the roof wraps around and I feel like I'm sitting in a bathtub. Was not a fan. The Mustang has a much better seat to shifter position too. Too bad the Challenger is so fat and expensive. It looks soooooo good.
