My 1968 Chevelle Build

Hey Everyone,

I figured I would post the progress on my 1968 Chevelle Restoration/Modernization project.

Today started the major body work. When I say major I mean almost all new metal.

What you see in the pics:

New Gen 6 454 with a race built TH350

Chevelle after Engine and Transmission

The beginning of the teardown.

Here are the specs:

Stock 454 TH 350
Poly bushings and new suspension throughout

Great car to "make over"

Looks like you are tackling a pretty big project.

Yeah I am re doing the suspension to use Tubular A arms, thicker sway bars, and coil overs.

It should be pretty level when Im done with it.

Thanks for all the feedback, Here are some more details:

My 68 Chevelle will have a 69 dash setup (I like the round gauge bezel better)

Gauges are Dakota Digital.

Chrome Drip Railings are being shaved off for a smoother roofline
Door handles and Key holes will be shaved and smoothed.
Classic Auto Air Air conditioning system

I have a serpentine belt drive system on the engine to help make it more reliable.

Holley EFI system

Next week I should have pictures of all the new sheet metal on the car. I will post those when I get them.

So stopped back by the shop today and they got a little more work done. We are stuck due to parts not coming in yet. Aiming for all sheet metal to be done by Nov 19th.

The group doing this restoration are called Muscle Cars and Handle Bars.

I will continue to post pictures throughout the process.

Hey Everyone,

Stopped by the shop today to see the progress and snapped a few photos with my phone. (I have them documenting this project with a high quality camera)

Here is the latest. As you can see we are going with all new sheet metal.

Enjoy
Ed
