87 GN vs 2011 Buick Regal Turbo
Saw this on another site - I have always loved the GN so I had to post.
Long live the GN/GNX. Had a good 0-60 time considering it runs 7 inch wide tires in the rear.

GN's are beasts. That new overpriced Regal will plummet in resale. They don't appeal to me at all

Of course, they do. The Regal is still a hell of a lot better than Buicks over the past few years. It's still a decent ride, but nothing like the GN's of year's past. Supposedly there is an AWD, 325hp turbo V6 version overseas that isn't coming over...for now.. That would be a pretty cool DD.

The 50K mile GN in that article belonged to a turbo Buick player in our group, which is TurboBuick.com, SouthWestern Section. He sold it to another in our group, Lou Czarnota, a turbo Buick speciality shop in SoCal. He in turn sold it to a new player in our group, who is exceptionally happy with the purchase / car. It is a nice car, and not to brag, but it is not as nice as my 28K mile turbo Buick, a white Turbo-T with a few bolt-ons. Mine runs 12.7 with true street tires, not slicks nor Mickeys. I did see the article and it appeared to be pretty objective in general.
Here's a pic of my '87 Buick Turbo-T alongside my buddy's 10 sec '87 GN

I get funny looks when I tell people my age (30) I have a Buick. I generally don't tell women at all because it's just too hard to explain. "No, really, it's actually fast, I promise!" It just gets worse when I say it's from the 80's, and let's be honest... unless you're a car guy and you know the score, an 80's Regal isn't exactly winning any beauty contests. Everybody from my generation only associates Buick with earth tone senior-citizen land yachts. I like that Buick's kinda redefining their image; the new Regal doesn't look bad, and I think it's a move in the right direction, but I also think it's a case of too little too late. Once upon a time, they made legit musclecars! Oldsmobile and Pontiac did too, though, and that didn't save them.

Even though this was published in about '09 or so, these pics were taken by Hemming's Muscle Machines back in about '04 or so, when my car was basically bone stock and had about 12K miles on it. I purchased in in Sept of '03, an original CA car. Thanks for looking, and if you have seen this article, I apologize for taking up your time.
If I go to heaven, I'm taking the '09 Cad CTS-V, but if I'm going to hell, this is what's coming with me.

I have never forgotten you, Frank, nor big Jim. How are you guys doing,? And what did you replace the GN with. I still have the '02 Vette ZO6 for a dd, which will be getting sold very soon, and I still have my white 29K mile (now) turbo buick, and I added another play toy to take the place of the Vette. A '09 Cad CTS-V, unfortunately still bone stock. Hope that you and your beautiful wife are doing great.
