Traded the P-Car for a CTS-V.

So I was at the dealership buying my Mom a Caddy SRX, well there was a CTS-V Coupe there and I wandered over for a look.........then came back the next day for a test drive......result...One new CTS V Coupe in the garage, parked where the 05 Turbo S Cab USED to be.

I must admit, I could not be happier with the trade. Next stop, Lingenfelter for a pulley swap, ported snout, and tune to take it to 630hp.

Some pics

I'll be honest, I'm not fond of the car's looks. Looking at the car, if I didn't know better, I'd have never thought it was aimed at performance. I also think the sedan is more handsome.

That being said, it's still a car I'd like to own. Look at that interior!

Yeah, leather power Recaro's, adjustable everything with memory. Lumbar, bolsters, thighs, evry thing you can think of is power adjustable.

I totally understand your sentiment, the back end is very different but it really grows on you after a bit. Just takes some getting used too.

And thank you sir.

Not that I didn't love my P-Car, but this is a whole different theory of design. I must be getting old, I like this alot better. Way more luxury, waayyy better interior, damn near as fast in the straights (will be faster after Lingenfelter) way easier to live with day to day. I truly feel the only thing I gave up was all out cornering. Everything else was a gain in my personal opinion. Not a better car, just different in all the right ways (for me)

Why do american manufacturers desire the 4x4 look for all thier cars? Lower it! I'm looking at getting myself a wagon when my lease is up on my current car! Ultimate sleeper!

I think the car would look better with some aftermarket wheels. The interior is surprising nice.

I'm OK with the front, but yeah, the back needs help in the tire fender gap dept. I like the stock wheels so I might just go up one tire size in the back for a bit of width and a touch more sidewall and drop it an inch, that'd pretty much do for my tastes.

1" would be perfect. I think that the large expanse of metal above he rear wheels makes the rear wheels look small and the gap larger than it really is. Even a set of small spacers might help in making the wheel/tires look bigger and the gap smaller. I put slightly larger tires on wheels that were spaced out 7 mm on my wife car and it made a huge difference.

How would you compare the ride quality on bumpy pavement vs the porsche?
I am curious how good this would be for long distance travel.
