1,800 rwhp of American Muscle...
A company out of Houston, Late Model Racecraft, has built this 1,800 rwhp monster to run the Texas Mile. Things ought to be pretty interesting this year. http://www.youtube.com/user/hightech.../0/ki1QrCGfntk

Well the car ran 215 mph on its first shake down run on Friday, then they attempted a second run and blew out the rear tires (Mickey Thompson's), I believe. I heard they were going to try and make a run on Sunday with a set of street tires.

Drag radials are not the proper choice for extended high speed runs.
1/4 mile only, IMHO.
You need a good street tire with a Y or W rating to keep it safe.

Just heard the Camaro went 239 mph on 20" street tires! Threw a belt that run and also heard it was running only about 15 lbs of boost that run and only went full throttle at the 1/2 mile mark. I believe the crew is looking for a belt and will try again shortly.

1 totalled vette on MT DRs, and 1 other blowout on MT DRs on LMRs SS. Way to much extended heat cycle for that soft sidewall. Hoosier R6s would be smarter. Either way a ton of heat at these insane speeds. Steven has ***** to go 239 in an fbody street car. This car is an absolute monster and finally backed this past years hype.
