C5Z06 quicky pics

100 degrees around Chicago on Sunday, and I found this secluded spot for some quicky pics while out cruising around with the a/c blazing...

Nice pics, Such a cool shape the Z06!

What wheels are they they suit it really well? If I'm not mistaken the Z06 has the LS6 motor in it? We don't get the Corvette's here in Aus.

Thanks, mate! I agree, the C5Z06 has a unique look. Really the only Corvette I liked. It has a little "fighter jet" canopy look to it. I always thought it looked more balanced than the newer C6 coupes with their high hatchback and short chopped rear end.

The wheels are 19"/20" models made by TSW, and were on the car when I purchased it. I am replacing them with much lighter and stronger forged wheels over the winter.

You are correct, the C5Z06 was fitted with the LS6. Mine has been upgraded further with AFR heads, FAST manifold, a Comp Cams XFI kit, headers with Borla exhaust, and more.

Its defiantly has the Fighter Jet look to the canopy.

What wheels are you looking to upgrade to, I think large simple spoke forged wheels suit the Z06 with its long bonnet.

what sort of power are you making with that set up most here in Aus are running the LS1 or L98 making 330rwkw with similar mods. Would sound very tuff for sure.

Nice Z06. I still love the look of the FRC over the coupe any day of the week. Your wheels are actually cray Manta's not TSW's. Forgestars in all black would look amazing and not set you back to much extra coin should you decide to upgrade. 18/19 or 19/20 combo would tuck nicely under the fenders.

The car hasn't been dynoed with the current mods. It has run an 11.40 ET spinning those 20" tires through the first 2 gears, though. LOL

Not too interested in dynoing the current engine, as I am planning an LS3 stroker build over the winter. I will dyno the car at that time.

Actually, they are. Crays are made by TSW, which is why they are in the TSW catalog. Not many people know that. Good eye, though!

The one-piece cast Forgestars are not available in the sizes I want, unfortunately. Not a fan of all-black wheels, either. They just look dirty to me. No separation between the wheel and the tire. I will always run polished lips to accentuate the sidewall of the tire. I am actually having a set of 19x10 front 20x11.5 rear Forgelines built for next season. I am stuck between 2 models, but pretty sure that I will settle on the S03P in the finish shown below...

I like mesh pattern wheels on the C5Z, but I am buying another MKIV Supra that will be wearing mesh wheels, so this car needs spoked wheels.
