At TX mile I believe LMRs Camaro at 258 or 9 if I recall. Also understand its no longer a "LMR" car. However Performance Powers Ford GT went 283.3 in Florida for the actual World Record mile/street car earlier this week.

Also heard the Hennessey/Shane T Ford GT popped the motor today towards the end of a run.

Nice run. I also read on another forum that LMR's Camaro did 263mph as well. Got to give it up to the other FGT that went 283mph for the record. Man did they cover everybody with that run.

Can't wait to see the response from the other big guns at the next event. Who will be the first the crack 300mph in a mile. It sounded so ridiculous just a year ago to hear someone say 300mph in a mile...from a street car. Now we got a few cars that may actually make it a reality. Just nuts.

 

Very Impressive indeed. The FGT now rules this event. 300 will be a stretch for a street car...depending on what you consider street tires and a street car.

 

Super abrasive concrete VS not so abrasive concrete or unprepared asphalt makes any horsepower comparison a moot point.

Huge HP doesn't matter if you can't put it down.
