I am sure the car has improved, but doubt it is on par with your Gallardo.

I have a '13 GTS and can tell you first hand the car is amazing. My friend had an '06 Gallardo (I loved that car too) that I have driven so I can at least give you a good comparison. First, FORGET everything you have heard, been told and have experienced with older Vipers. The new Viper is a completely different beast. Many old Viper faithful do not like the direction of the new car but I (having owned a 2005 Gen III and 2009 Gen IV Viper) welcome the change. Compared to the '06 G the '13 GTS is much faster. Actually not even a comparison. It gets 2x as bad if you take the cars to the track or road course. Personally I can't comprehend when 'people' say the car is not comfortable. It has more head and leg room than the G and more than any previous Viper. This is the first Viper I did not have to install a seat lowering kit to fit in. (6'3" 225lbs). I contemplated a Superleggera but with the fixed seats on the later models (think it was an '09) I couldn't even see out of the windshield.
Some other bullet points.
-a lot of carbon fiber
-MUCH improved interior
-adjustable suspension
-traction/stability control
-blue tooth/ipod hookup/Sirius
- a real 6sp manual..my favorite
I could tell you how great the car is but it still will do it no justice. The Viper has always been a car that each and every potential buyer must drive first hand and experience the car for oneself. Keep an open mind( ignore unsubstantiated advice, most non Viper owners on this forum have no idea what they are talking about) and decide for yourself. If I dealer wont let you test drive the car find a Viper owner from your local Viper club. I am sure he will help. Good Luck

Thank you guys! i really appreciate all your honest opinions! i decided to keep my car and wait until i can upgrade tu a SL or LP Gallardo....
Viper are fantastic cars and i went to the dealer to check it out but i didn't really feel any connection with this car...
-It's very uncomfortable... more than the Lambo (the lambo is uncomfortable) i'm 6'2 tall 280 pounds and i felt like a monkey in a cage...
-The interior still gets very hot... not as bad as my 2006 coupe Viper but still pretty bad...
-If you don't spend crazy money for the CF package you will get the same cheap interior...
-The Launch control doesn't work
The look is AMAZING!!! and i'm sure it's veryyy fast but not enough to make me jump the bridge back to Vipers
Here is an old video of me having fun with my 06 Viper....

6'2" 280lbs is too big for the Viper. I hot lapped one around MRLS and wrote an article about it. It was a lot of fun, visceral, fast and very memorable. Not my choice for a daily, but it hauls ***. Shifter was a little notchy. Not many cars left with that kind of performance, a manual transmission and lack of driver aids.....
That means stock EVERYTHING is slow except the 918 Spyder ala 'Ring and MRLS lap time RECORDS....
And that is still a manual transmission, rwd, iron brakes, and not a lightweight.

Nope... They wouldn't let me which it was another reason for me to not even think about doing the deal....

Too big for the Viper, Gallardo, etc... All sport cars are uncomfortable for big guys like me... But I just love sport cars...
My Z06 & my 997TT were better... A lot more comfortable and room to move around.
