How many former Corvette owners

Just curious to how many of you Porsche owners used to have a Corvette prior to your current Porsche.

If you have both, chime in as well.

I had a 2005 Machine Silver C6. Beautiful car, but after a couple of years, it was obvious that I was missing the ride and handling of the Porsche. No regrets, happy to have had the car, but glad to be back.

Had one of the first C6's (black on black) that I owned for just over a year. Sold it and bought CaymanS. Drove CaymanS for a year. Sold it this past February for this.

C6Z06 is intriguing.......yes, you are correct, I am a headcase.

Thanks buddy. The first word that comes out of my mouth is WOW!! I had the C6 Vette where I loved the power (esp low end torque) but I came from an '01 M3 and was just used to the German engineering (not saying it is better...its just what I was used to and prefer) that the Vette did not provide. Then I saw the CaymanS and loved the styling/handling/build quality so I bought it BUT after a year I really missed the power that the Vette provided. When I still owned the CaymanS I test drove a 996TT. Needless to say, I put the CaymanS up for sale the next day. Although they are very different cars, I feel that the 996TT combined the power of the Vette with the build quality/engineering/handling that a Porsche provides. I will have this for a few years and then on to a 997TT (used) or perhaps back to the darkside for a Z06. If I find a deal on a used 997TT in a couple of years like I did this '03 996TT (17K miles and got it for $66.8K), it will be hard to pass up.

btw, nice ride on your end as well. Maybe an EVOMS supercharger in your future for the 997??? Come on man, do it!!

I must admit, I love my C4S. Thinkiing about some mods, but I really like the whole stock look with small tweeks in between.

MY goal is to go for a Turbo in two years. I will put about 6K miles on my car in the two years, and it should make for a great trade in, or sell on my own. At that point, I may go for a used Turbo, as they are a much wiser deal than new.

By the way, really like the pics you took of the cars on your website link.

Stay in touch!

Owned several Corvettes over the past 20+ years (1969, 1975, 1994, 2000) but was (and still am) horrified by the C6 exterior design after the C5 I had (Magnetic Red over black convertable) was just so damn beautiful.....so decided to upgrade to a 996TT......tremendous car, truly one of the world's greatest sportscars.

Next car for weekend stuff will be one of the following:

'63-'64 Corvette
'87-'88 Porsche Turbo cabriolet
Ferrari 348 (or 355 if I can kill a couple of people for the insurance money)
Gen 2 Viper
