Any CTS-V owners?

Thoughts, comments, compliments, criticisms? Seems they did something to improve the axle hop issue in later years, is it still obnoxious?

The V I drove at Caddilac's auto-x event really impressed me with the way it handled. I was amazed at how well I could slide it around--much better than the M5 I arrived in even!

don't own one, but I love em! Hope they fixed the wheel-hop issue, that was my only complaint when I drove one. I hear this 2nd gen CTS-V is gonna be the M5 killer

I'd also like to know if they solved the fuel starvation issue the early models were having on the track.

STS-V = POS! Can't beat an M5 or E55

CTS+ Wheel Hop = Huge POS!

I had a CTS-V for 4 months. 3 rear diffs in 3 months because of the wheel hop and Cadillac refused to fix the 4th, so I sold it and took a big hit cause it is just not a desireable car.

What year was it? They made some changes in 06 that was supposed to address the issue. Ever track it? If so, did you have the fuel starvation issue? I read about that but it was on a preproduction model, not sure if it made it into production.

I think the STS-V is ****. It's not meant to be as hardcore as either of those, it's meant to have a softer edge.

I will be honest, I would not recommend my worst enemy buy one after the problems I have had. 6 diffs, 1 engine, 1 trans, 1 flywheel/clutch assembly etc, etc... And it was never tracked or taken to the strip...

However, many have had no problems, which blows my F'in mind! This would be the perfect car IF it had no problems.

I had an '05 with the LS6. I had all the Anti-Wheelhop stuff that BMR Fabrication made and the car still had horrible Wheelhop. Car is super cheap feeling inside and the steering wheel is too big, seats were awful and it creaked cracked and the diff whined even after it was "fixed". The only thing I did like was the Stereo/Nav. unit. My buddy has an '06 with the LS2.............Still has bad wheelhop. Don't do it unless you pick one up super cheap and spend some money on a new suspension.

I had planned on putting in some Konis and some new rotors but not sure if that would help. I have no idea what causes axle hop so I wouldn't know how to go about fixing it.

Sigh...I've had an M5 already and wanted something similar, but different.

The angle of the shock and he dampining has alot to do with the wheelhop. I would go with a new M5 6spd or E63 or used E55.
