At least stoplight to stoplight...

It's 100% stock right now and I'm debating whether or not to upgrade. It's under 30k miles and in very good condition. It was neck & neck with a C6 Z06 on the street from a stoplight up to about 80mph. He started to pull away and then we ran out of room. I also had to brake much earlier than him because of my 1991 Chevy S10 brake pads and rotors. It is the 1st production truck to have an ABS system though.

Very cool. I remember wanting a Typhoon so badly when they first came out.

The turbo syclones are sooooo sick, I remember driving my GF dad's syclone and being amazed at the raw power and traction.

The turbo's are about a 13 flat and the non-turbo about a 14 flat.

The best part are the 1.6-1.7 sec 60' times on stock street tires. The other guy is always playing catch up.

non-turbo's? they are all turbo's.

The Syclones typically do 0-60mph in 4.3 sec and 13.1-13.3 @ 98mph in the 1/4 mile in stock form. The 'famous' 13 flat stock Syclone was actually run without it's exhaust connected. Typhoon's (the SUV version) are about 400lbs heavier I think and they run about a 1/2 second slower.

For about $900 you can shave a full second from the 0-60 and qtr mile times with an intake, boost controller, ecu, exhaust and injectors. Yes, all that is under $1000! To go lower than low 12's is where it gets $$$ (relatively speaking of course). To get into the 11's you will need to beef up the tranny and into the 10's will require some engine work.

Always loved the Syclone. There was one parked in front of my work last week. I hadn't seen one on the road in 10 years!

I'll make sure to keep a camera in the truck next time. The total race was under 6 or 7 seconds but you can call BS on it if you want to. I had the lead to start and he pulled right on by me. My guess is he wasn't expecting to have to give the race so much effort but I wasn't in his passenger seat so who knows...

99% of the people I race are 3 series BMW's (because of the part of town I am in) or 90's Blazers/S10's (I think they want to beat the S10 with a bodykit...). I've only had the Sy about 6 months now and this has been the only memorable race so far. It made me rethink going the upgrade route.

If you have more hp than a Syclone, it's not if you're going to beat it but more like "when you're going to catch up to it". That may not apply to certain AWD or drag radial vehicles though.

i'm just saying, you are trying to say your 13 second car stuck w/ an 11 second car.

I'm very familiar w/ the syclone and it's abilities, but same goes w/ the new Z06

It did stick with it. I was actually ahead of it for the majority of the time. I'm sure your GTO is probably a better 1/4 mile car than a stock Syclone but you won't beat me to the next stop light (unless it's more than a 1/4 mile away... ).

The funny part is I feel like the guy in the NA car racing a turbo car. You start out ahead and get blown away on the top end. Only my truck is turbo and the other cars are NA, LOL. I used to only want to race from a roll with my previous 501rwhp 300ZXTT. Now I only want to go from a dig!
