And that makes it even worse. I have met him quite a few times, and I hate to see Carroll's legacy ruined by bad decisions this late in his life. The cobra has not sparked much if any interest, and I highly doubt the "KR" will do much if anything as well. O well, just makes the 427's and Daytona coupes that much more beautiful.

Best one doesn't have a picture, but here's the story:
"The 1987 Shelby Lancer was Shelby's stab at a Eurostyle sports sedan. As such, given its pedestrian K-Car architecture, it was at least a couple notches below BMW and Audi in sophistication. Yet its $16,995 price tag created high expectations, perhaps higher than Chrysler and Shelby were capable of meeting at that point.
What the Shelby Lancer offered was a raucous personality, something often in short supply in sport sedan ranks. The Lancer came with the 2.2-liter Turbo II, rated at 175hp. It offered comforts usually not found in other Shelby models, such as optional leather seats, high-end stereo equipment and choice of automatic or manual transaxle. A total of 780 were built.
Slightly watered-down corporate versions were built in 1988 and '89, named the Dodge Lancer Shelby. Like the Dodge Shelby Charger, these were built at Dodge factories using Shelby-inspired parts, instead of being constructed at Shelby's California facility."

Now, whether these new cars are doing their namesakes justice, is another question entirely.
