I agree. Like i said - the engine is in the wrong place. I drove a stock 2006 z06 and felt that the chassis/tires had an extremely difficult time puting the power down. I was taking a Rt. turn at 25 mph in 2nd and got on it just a bit and HELLO OVERSTEER!! Good thing it comes with all the electronic nannies. The Z06 is too much for the street so I just don't understand what the ZR1 is going to be used for on the street. Heck it is going to be such a beast that I doubt most of us could really use it at the track.

Heck - what am I *****ing about - CF panels, dry sump and 650 HP. Where do I sign up?

 

At $100K, it'll be ~$10-15K more than the 600 hp Viper. It's a lot harder to say it's still a bargain if it costs more than the Viper. For $80K flat, Chevy wouldn't be able to make them fast enough!

I think it will be worthy of a great many 6speed battle threads.

At this point, any comparison is going to be pure speculation.

 

And that's why I'd buy it. The Viper is an oversized piece of lard.

 

the Z06 is neck and neck with a turbo so im sure the blue devil will have no problem with the GT2....it is suppose to be up in the Carrera GT league

 

And with a bottome end that can take boost from the factory, and a Heffner twin turbo setup on it, it should be right up there with the best of them

 

What about the transmission? 6 speed or not?

 

The LS9 is a much stronger block than the LS7, the reason they decreased the displacement to 6.2 is so those thicker cylinder walls could handle some serious forced induction. Also, I don't see why GM wouldn't offer a six speed?

i wonder if that will still be a requirement, with that power to weight it should be!

 

Thing is going to rip.

For those privelaged enough to get one off the start, it is going to be a head turner.

People may say the Z06 is common, but it still turns heads just as quickly as anything else on the road. It's wide as hell, and has a mean stance.

This thing is going to rip, nothing compares for the cash. It will probably put down 550ish to the wheels, and be around 3000-3100 pounds.

It's a no brainer, especially for someone who can afford to have more than one toy in the garage.

 

as far as i know its the 6060 tremec six speed same tranny thats in the 08 z06.

one of the test cars put down 663 to the wheels this summer!!!!!!
