Modified exhaust question
The 2008 Vantage I just bought came with a modified exhaust system but I don't know which one. What does the stock muffler look like? What other mods can be made to the exhaust that would cost close to $5K. The dealer who is a friend told me about the exhaust mod, after the deal was closed so he wasn't trying to hype the car. It sounds good from start-up and you can hear me coming from two blocks away.

If you still have the stock rear exhaust the vacume controlled valves might be disconected or fuse F22 has bean pulled deactivating the vacume controls. Either or can be easily reversed. There is nothing else that can be done to a stock unit. There is ALOT that can be bolted on for more agressive noise.

It looks like this one. Is that a stock exhaust? If this is a stock exhaust muffler what would the previous owner of spent $5K on if he put a custom exhaust system on the car or is my friend the dealer mistaken??? Thanks for your help.

You my friend are the proud owner of an RSC tuning exhaust system. Depending upon where you bought the car from and which dealer it was originally at, I would say you've probably got our Supersports system (the louder of our two).

Thanks it does sound like the one you posted on the other thread. Very cool. The car came from Tampa, bought new at the Tampa Aston dealer.

Yup, makes perfect sense! Hope you enjoy it! Our Vantage has got 200 cell cats on it as well which give it a bit of a deeper, more raw sound but the basic accoustics should be the same.

I got under mine and it looks like I also have your cat's So if the previous owner spend between $5-7K on your system what else might I have. It does feel really fast. How much more HP could I have over stock?

If you want to know whether the cats have been done and which ones they are post a pic up and I can ID them for you.
If you want to check whether the ECU has been reprogrammed then I can speak with the Techs at your local dealer and tell them how to check.
If you don't have either done then you should - sounds absolutely wicked with cats & ECU done and goes like **** off a shovel!

Thanks, I am taking it in for the annual service in 2 weeks I will take a pic of the cat's at that time. I don't know if I want to advertise changes to the ECU to the dealer because of warranty issues . I do know that it is very fast and sounds great. I will drive a new 2009 with the 4.7 when at the dealer and see how it compares. Again thanks for your help.

PitbullSL500 - I would love to hear about a little race between your car and the 2009 ....
If your car came from Tampa ... call Tom Heinz (at AM of Tampa) and he can tell you what is on the car ... as in if the dealership did the work and what was done. You will get a straight answer.
