PitbullSL500 is infamous around these parts
Castrol 5W30 Syntec

Even though my owners manual calls for 10W60 Castrol Edge Sport they Tech. claimed that is what Aston is calling for in the Vantage now. They even show that they filled it with Castrol 5W30 Syntec on the receipt that I have. Should I be worried or just run it. I drove 236 miles to the closest dealer for this annual service

I just looked it up. Apparently full synthetic 5W50 is also acceptable but I can't see 5W30 in this PDF file.

I concur with Kamran. I see the options as 5W50 or 10W60 only.

Well I talked to the dealer today, they said the Castrol Syntec won't hurt my engine but if it would make me feel better they would order some 10W60 and a new filter and ship it to me. I went ahead and took my AM to the local BMW dealership and had them change the oil to Castrol Synthetic 10W60 which is what AM calls for. The AM dealer will pay me for this oil change. I am almost 250 miles from my closest dealer so I will only be using the dealer for problems covered under warranty. I just wonder how many of you are getting 5W30 Castrol Syntec put into your cars when you think you are getting 10W60? You might want to watch the work being done.
