How hard is it to re-install an OEM exhaust?

Guys,

I am planning on re-installing my OEM exhaust, can my local shop do it? How hard is the procedure? Did any of you replace your exhausts at home? Also, if I do it I will have a barely used Quicksilver Super Sport for sale. How much can I get for it? Thanks for all the replies.

Not hard to install and a good local shop should have no problem ( I used one for my exhaust) w/ a lift. Generally takes 2 people as stock exhaust is heavy. It has been almost 2 years for mine but I recall a gasket in between the exhaust and the cats. You migt want to call the dealer and ask - might be a good idea if you need a set to have it mailed prior to install. You can always return if not used or sell w/ old exhaust.

Kamran,

I thought I had the Sports exhaust untill I looked at the bill late this afternoon. It's not loud at all, no drone and great high pitch sound at 6000 rpms. This exhaust acts like it came from an Aston factory.

It can be done easily with a lift and a buddy as the OEM unit is heavy. You might want to purchase new doughnut gaskets before you tear it apart as they are not really re-usable.

Can these gaskets be purchased at a regular parts store or must they come from the dealer?

I believe the gaskets are made by AM and are not generic or common. I would certainly recommend purchasing them from the dealer before you install or re-install your OEM exhaust.
