Factory Supercharger

I had the opportunity to speak with a saleman about the V12V. While it still looks like AM will get the car here, it will probably not be until 2011. In the mean time, I questioned him aout changes to the Vantage V8 and he responded that they may bore the engine out further and that there has been discussion of a retro-fit supercharger. I called another dealership and heard the same thing. I was wondering if anyone in the know can back any of this up. I would love to know if it is so and if it will be available for both the 4.3 and 4.7. I would like to know what kind of charger they are planning and the cost. If anyone can shed some light I would appreciate it.

Damn, that sounds intriguing! I hope that is true. I would love to learn more about that. Please advise if anyone finds out more info. I will call Lake Forest Sports Cars next week to inquire as well.

Wow, that is some news. SC under a factory warranty does sound appealing. Really curious what the cost might be.

It wouldn't surprise me - when we were developing our SC the guy who did the mapping had a number of conversations with AM Technical guys for a bit of help, and they were.... unusually helpful and interested...

I sat at AM today for over an hour with the service manager and we talked about FI stuff. He didn't think it was gonna happen.

Anything new with your kit? Do you have a car in the US with the SC running? Have you solved the issues with the sport shift? Do you have any performance data? I noticed that Paramount took the SC off of their website.

A factory SC would be interesting ... my only negative thought would be their price... then again it would certainly help boost the resale ... snap up a used one and drop the kit in ... probably still less than what I paid new a few years ago!

We don't currently have a car in the US. I believe the first 3 customers are all UK-based(if you include the channel islands). Regarding the sport shift, the only issue we have is just that the kit has only been installed on manuals up to this point. I'm pretty confident that it will work fine, especially given that there are other chargers on the market on SS cars which are shifting fine. However, we aren't the sort of company to say yes it works when we haven't actually tried it yet. We'd rather give you the honest answer and say that we believe it not to be an issue but we don't know for certain yet.

I phoned my dealer today and not too surprisingly they were not aware of a factory supercharger. My contact there said he would make a few calls and get back to me when/if he has some further info. I will keep everyone here apprised.
