4.3 versus 4.7
I'm going to update. I've been surfing the net and checking with dealers. There are not that many 4.7s out there. I'm finding out they did not import as many of the 09s (first year of 4.7) as they did in 08. Like to have manual convertible but almost non existent even in strange color combos. Manuals seem to be the more rare for 4.7s according to my research. Paddle shifters are more prevalent.

Were you able to find any other test that got those results?

This test sounds more realistic. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...take_road_test
6 mph higher on the trap speed, and .4 seconds faster on the 0-60.
Which would mean some cats, exhaust, ecu, air filters, may get the 4.3 pretty close to the 4.7. 5k in mods is cheaper than a 2009-2010 Vantage

Still, $5k in mods and $5750 in warranty is less than an 09, but there are other things to consider here too like otherwise newer electronics/parts that might last longer and require less maintenance/repair, ect. That said, at some point you have to settle, as chasing the latest and greatest with exotics is a very expensive game for marginal upgrades.

Another article that shows the two are not that far apart.

Just checked Manheim. Not one 2009 has gone through the auction. I can't find one less than 100k on ebay. The question becomes, today, if you buy a 2007 for 75k, add the mods and the warranty that gets you to 84k. How much difference to you get for 20k?
I will wait it out until next year and try to pick up a 2009. I don't think I am missing that much right now.

Waiting it out in an Aston Martin is not such a bad thing, afterall . I'm going to do my best to enjoy my G35 coupe for the rest of the year too, envious as I may be .
BTW, I have Manheim access too and have been keeping an eye there, along with Ebay/Yahoo/Autotrader. 09 Vantages are so much more rare to find than 06/07/08.

The car did trap that, it may not trap that every time but it did that time. Also there are quite a few that have it trapping 113 mph which is still a huge difference not made up with just bolt ons.

I have done the AM power pack upgrade and did their handling upgrade package. Are there any other power upgrades I can do to the 4.3 in addition to the power pack upgrade?
Would be interested to see what it traps as well.
Thanks

The V12 is doing the 1/4 in 12.7. I really find it hard to believe that the 4.7 is faster in the 1/4.

The V12 Vantage is not available in the US, so how did they test a US model?
Wether its between 6 mph or 11 mph its going to take a pretty significant power increase, and more than the 40 or 50 flywheel hp to gain parity with a 4.7 especially due to its increased power under the curve.

I disagree that the 4.7 is equal to or faster than the V12.
There are V12 tests everywhere, they are tests by Euro magazine, and yes, Americans are allowed to go there and test the cars.
I think the trap speeds are more like 4-5 mph apart and I do think you can get that with 40 hp.
Going to punch some numbers in this link and see what I come up with. http://www.ajdesigner.com/phphorsepo...horsepower.php
